Indonesian-German Economic and Investment Committee in Berlin

Yestoday, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action hosted the inaugural session of the Indonesian-German Economic and Investment Committee in Berlin.

The event, opened by German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Dr. Robert Habeck, and Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, focused on deepening economic exchanges between Germany and Indonesia, covering industry, trade & investment, energy, and human resource development. Consensus was reached on prioritizing digital and climate-friendly technologies, with business representatives from both countries sharing insights into their projects. Pei Albrecht represented ALBA Group Asia at this significant event.

In 2022, ALBA Group Asia entered the Indonesian plastics recycling market through a joint venture with PT Tridi Oasis Group, with the first project located in #Tangerang. This marks a significant step forward for Indonesia towards its near-zero plastic pollution target by 2040. Since the launch of our #Kendal project in July 2023, progress has been steady. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the facility will process PET beverage bottles into high-quality rPET flakes and food-grade rPET pellets. Leveraging expertise from our German-based sister company, Interzero, and similar ALBA projects in Asia, our goal is to assist Indonesia in reducing plastic waste impact by boosting collection rates through market creation initiatives.
